Meet Murphy, WA SURF's youngest kiteboarding team rider. At just eight years old, Murphy is already making waves in the local kiteboarding community, riding down at his local spot, The Pond, whenever he gets the chance.

Murphy started kiteboarding at the age of 6, inspired to give the sport a go by his dad. He loves his Big Air kiteboarding; his favourite time to get on the water is when he can ride those in 22-knot winds. Despite his young age, Murphy has already competed in some epic events like the Augusta Big Air Nationals and King of the Pond, where he came fifth in the under-14 category.

When it comes to gear, Murphy's top pick is Duotone for their cool and limited edition kites and has been using their equipment for about a year now. This season, Murphy aims to nail a board off and a back roll kiteloop. We can't wait to see what he accomplishes this season and are excited to cheer him on as he chases his kiteboarding dreams!
