Big Air Kiteboarding: Taking It to the Next Level with the CORE Big Air Series

If you're into big air kiteboarding, you'll know it's a rush like no other. There's nothing quite like catching massive air, throwing down your biggest tricks, and feeling the crowd's energy when you stick the landing. If you're chasing that high or just love watching riders push the limits, the CORE Big Air Series is where it's at. At WA SURF, we're all about backing this epic discipline and stoked to be part of the action.

CORE Big Air Series

The CORE Big Air Series has become the go-to for kiteboarders looking to show the world what they are made of. Sponsored by CORE Kites Australia and organised by Kiteboarding Australia, this series gives riders a stage to show off what big air is all about. Last year's comps were massive, and this season, they've upped the game by adding more events, including Victoria's first Big Air Titles.

The CORE Big Air Nationals went down in November 2024 at Augusta, Western Australia, a world-class spot with perfect conditions for sending it - strong winds and clean lines made for an unforgettable weekend of big tricks and even bigger vibes.

Here's what Rebecca Bury, General Manager of Kiteboarding Australia, had to say:

"The Big Air discipline really took off in Australia last year… This year, we wanted to take the discipline to new heights with Core Kiteboarding, building on the momentum from last season."

The CORE Big Air Series is shaping Australia into a big air kiteboarding hotspot with events across the country.

The CORE Big Air Series events include:

  • CORE Big Air Nationals 2024/25
  • Big Air Victoria
  • King of the Pond
  • Big Sydney
  • Big Air Queensland
